The Buddies are back and this time they are packing in their vitamin intake with plenty of fruit! 

As with all the other packs, we have two versions to choose from depending on reading abilities.

The standard reader pack includes pages with wondering questions to help children to reflect on the passage they have read, and space to draw or write their thoughts. This pack uses the International Children’s Bible and picks out some of the less well known stories of the Bible such as Abigail and Hezekiah to help us explore the practical examples of the Fruit of the Spirit in action.

This is a really simple paper craft that children and make for Pentecost, or just for fun. The dancing man loves to express the joy of Pentecost by dancing when children move him from side to side.

Choose either to colour and decorate him yourselves or the pre-coloured version.

A simple and fun activity for Pentecost. Download, print – ideally onto card if possible, cut and stick – see, simple!

You can either use the ready coloured version if you’re short on time or if you’d like the children to colour as you chat about Pentecost you can download a plain version that they can colour in.

This is a noisy and very active game that needs a good bit of space – can be played inside or outside. Can be used as part of the teaching about Pentecost and the wind of the spirit blowing through the room. Acts 2

Arrange the chairs or have the children sit on the floor in a circle, facing the middle.

An adult stands outside the circle and calls out “A great wind blows for everyone who….”, fills in the blank with a statement that will affect some of the group (see ideas below). Anyone who is affected must stand up and find another chair which is at least 2 chairs away from their own.

If a large group of children stand up, the adult should quickly remove one of the chairs from the circle as soon as the kids stand up and begin moving. Any child who cannot find a chair moves outside the circle and helps the adult come up with ideas for the next “great wind blows”.

Here are some ideas:

• A great wind blows for everyone who has a little brother
• A great wind blows for everyone who has a big sister
• A great wind blows for everyone who has been to France
• A great wind blows for everyone who has a dog
• A great wind blows for everyone who ate cornflakes for breakfast this morning
• A great wind blows for everyone who likes (celebrity)

This creative prayer enable focus and calm to encourage prayer, it is also something which families can take away and use in their own time and space.

You will need: pieces of twine or wool to offer to each person/family.

Take a piece of string or cord, and tie five knots in it to represent each of the five people or issues you have committed to pray for. You could carry the knotted string in your pocket, tie it round your wrist or place it somewhere that you’ll see it regularly. Use the knots to remind you to pray for each person or issue, that they would know God’s Hope even in impossible situations.

You can adapt this colouring page to make a craft: ‘It can be used to make a headband, stuck on a lollipop stick to wave around, you can add strips of red, yellow, orange tissue/crepe paper, or even put it onto bamboo and stick it in the garden….How will your child respond to the story? ‘
